Getting to know Juanita Evette Chavez

How did you get involved with boxing?

My mother knows Steve and Steve told my mother that he was opening a gym.  I had already been interested in boxing so I went to the gym. 

How old were you when you began boxing?

12 

What do you love most about boxing?

The gym is like another family 

What is your strength in the ring?

Speed 

What are your goals in and out of the ring?

My goal in boxing is to become an Olympic Boxer. Outside of the ring is to finish school. 

What are your hobbies outside of boxing?

Basketball and running 

Do you play any other sports?

No

Who is your greatest influence and why?

Tonga because he has been through a lot and he has taught me a lot, he is more than a coach. 

What is something interesting about you that most peopledon't know? ​

I love going to church.  It make me feel good and refreshed. 

How many brothers and sisters do you have?

2 sisters and one brother, I am the 2nd child.

My younger brother, Ernest.

My coaches Steve and Tonga
